STUDIO POLICY

I do not make exceptions to my Business Policies. Your cooperation and respect in Business Policy matters is expected and appreciated. These Business Policies are designed to enable me to spend my time, energy and attention on teaching, rather than on policy disputes. 

Policies:

• All cancelled or missed lessons are non-refundable. No refunds or credits. Your payment booklet reflects your monthly payment amount.

• Payment received after the first lesson of the month will be charged a $5 late fee.

• All returned checks are charged a $5 fee. 

• Checks cannot be post-dated or held by the studio for a later date.

• I reserve the right to terminate a student in such cases as:

        1.     A major lack of parental support

        2.     Lack of preparation for lessons – not practicing, not bringing books to lessons, etc.

        3.     Consistently late payment of tuition

        4.     Missing too many lessons which prevents readiness and progress

        5.     A student acting defiant

In addition, students should practice at least 20-30 minutes every day. To be prepared for a piano lesson, a student shouldn’t skip practice more than two days in any week.

Parents should sit down with their child on the FIRST day after piano lessons. This is the most important day to start practicing a new assignment if you want your child to RETAIN what I teach. Students feel unprepared and sound unprepared when they haven’t practiced enough for each lesson. I will have to delay to teach the next step in progress until a future lesson, because an unprepared student isn’t ready for the next step. Confident piano playing happens as a result of regular daily careful practice, not from “”crammed” practice done at the last minute.

By working together we can make music one of the most enjoyable experiences your child will ever encounter. This is one of the few avenues of training that they will carry with them for an entire lifetime.
